Today marks World Diabetes Day worldwide. In 1st class we are very privileged to have a student in our class to help us celebrate this day.We learned about diabetes, the colour and symbol that is recognised across the world, the symptoms of diabetes using the TEST acronym, participated in an activity about blood glucose levels using balloons and created posters.
We had a very special guest speaker who spoke about their day to day life with diabetes. As a class I know we can all say how very proud and lucky we are to be friends with and a teacher of our guest speaker. Today has taught us a little bit more about diabetes and how to look out for anyone who may have diabetes.
