There was much excitement this morning as the winners of the Green Schools slogan competition were announced. Our current theme is Global Citizenship: Energy and to this end, the children all took part in an Art and slogan competition for our energy theme.
The entries were of a very high standard as you would expect but we, the Green Schools Committee, selected three pictures that were above the rest in terms of creativity and imagination.
Third place was won by Matthew in Miss Duffy's 3rd Class. His clever slogan was "Save Energy, don't lose it!" Good advice Matthew!
Second place was won by Robyn in Miss Gallagher's 4th Class who had the very sensible slogan "Be Cool, Save Energy and Fuel!" Something that we can all do Robyn!
Ant the overall winner in 1st place from Miss O' Brien's 4th Class is Anna! Congratulations!! Anna drew a colourful and thought-provoking picture with the slogan "You have the Power to Shorten your Shower!" She points out the benefits of water conservation and saving money through reducing energy consumption. She also reminds us that we all have control over these decisions that will ultimately save the planet!
Huge Congratulations to our winners and indeed to all who took the time to enter the competition!
