Junior Class Assembly -You are the Sunshine ☀️
Today we had our Junior Class Assembly. It was a lovely occasion and it was enjoyed by all Junior Infants-Second Class and Leap Classes. We gathered together to celebrate the end of our school academic year as a group. We have worked hard, learned many new things and made wonderful memories together. It's now time to reflect on the achievements and growth which we have experienced.
We gave thanks to all of the wonderful staff and individuals that work in and alongside our school. We are grateful to the teachers who guide us, the friends who support us and the families who have cheered us on all year. We all have different roles, but we all have the same job which is to help the children in our school achieve their full potential in their academic, creative, personal, physical, moral and spiritual development.
The children sang a beautiful version of ‘You are my Sunshine’ which was poignant -as we face farewells and welcome new beginnings. We all went on an imaginary adventure through swishy swashy grass, a splashy sploshy river, some squelchy squerchy mud, a trippy troppy forest, a swirling whirling snowstorm to finally locate some sunshine.
We wish the children a beautiful Summer holiday and hope that they make lots of wonderful memories with their family and friends. Please continue lighting the way for others. Keep shining and be YOU!
‘You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are gray
You'll never know, dear
How much I love you
Please don't take
My sunshine away’
